Robert S. Strange
Dr. Strange has been an orthodontist in Leesburg for over 25 years. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics, which is an honor few orthodontists achieve. The board certification process takes many years and consists of written and oral examinations, presentations of patient cases, and approval by the members of the American Board of Orthodontists. Dr. Strange is also a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, and the Virginia and Southern Associations of Orthodontists.
Dr. Strange grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Grove City College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, and then attended the University of Pittsburgh for his dental and orthodontic training. After receiving his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree, Dr. Strange completed two years of specialty training in orthodontics as well as achieving a Master's Degree in Dental Science. Upon his graduation in 1986, Dr. Strange moved to Leesburg to start his orthodontic practice.
Dr. Strange enjoys living in Leesburg with his wife and three children. His youngest daughter is a student at Loudoun County High School, and his son and eldest daughter attend college in Virginia. Dr. Strange is an avid sports fan and has spent over 30 years coaching baseball, basketball and swimming. He now enjoys cheering for his daughters' high school and college athletic teams. Dr. Strange sponsors several local athletic programs and is involved in many community organizations. He spends his free time boating, fishing, golfing, and vacationing in Myrtle beach with his friends and family.
J. Matthew Hancock
Dr. Hancock is a member of American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, and the Virginia and Southern Associations of Orthodontists. He is in the process of becoming a board certified orthodontist with the American Board of Orthodontics. He attends orthodontic conferences, seminars and continuing education courses to stay current with the latest knowledge and technology in orthodontics.
Dr. Hancock grew up in Fairfield, California. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Conservation Biology, and then attended the University of California at San Francisco for dental school. While in dental school, Dr. Hancock served in several school leadership positions and was an elected member of OKU, the national dental honor society. After receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2003, Dr. Hancock spent three years practicing dentistry in Arizona at a practice primarily treating children.
In 2006 he returned to school at the University of Pittsburgh to attend a residency in orthodontics. During his residency, Dr. Hancock focused his research on new orthodontic materials and submitted a portion of his research for a patent. After completing three years of specialty training, Dr. Hancock received his orthodontic certificate in 2009.
Dr. Hancock enjoys living in Leesburg with his five sons and his wife, who is a Northern Virginia native. He spends his free time serving in his local church, volunteering as a Cub Scout leader, following his favorite sports teams, and playing outside with his sons.
Dr. Hancock is fluent in Spanish.
